In response to new Patient Information published today by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) about pelvic girdle pain, Rosemary Dodds, Senior Policy Adviser, NCT, said:

“Pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy is common but can be extremely unpleasant. We agree the sooner the problem is diagnosed, the better for women who may need help to manage the pain.

“A midwife or health visitor is a good first port of call to discuss options such as pain relief or physiotherapy. We have lots of other ideas on our website for coping with the condition.”
