With more women requesting discharge home within hours of giving birth, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has piloted a dedicated discharge area for low risk births. Belinda Phipps, Chief Executive, NCT, says:
“This seems a sensible scheme as sometimes new mums want to get home as quickly as possible. Of course it would be totally unacceptable if new parents were ever to be sent home before they felt ready to do so.”
