Donations to our Infant Feeding Helpline helped us support over 400 parents during the festive season.
Funds raised for NCT’s Infant Feeding Helpline in December enabled our Breastfeeding Counsellors to answer calls from worried or anxious parents, who might be feeling isolated or alone with a new baby.
As a new parent, it can take time to feel confident caring for a baby. Our Infant Feeding Line provides professional support for all types of feeding, alongside a listening ear, which can make a difference in those early days of parenting. On Christmas Day and Boxing Day, over half (52%) of those who contacted us had a baby under a month old.
One Infant Feeding Line caller said: “The support person I spoke with was extremely reassuring and empathetic. She did not rush the conversation in any way. Asked lots of questions, was very reassuring, offered helpful tips, provided above and beyond information, took plenty of time to speak with me in detail and address all of my questions and concerns (from feeding to safe sleeping). Nothing but rave reviews for this service!”
