In response to the Covid-19 Inquiry, our Chief Executive, Angela McConville says:
“COVID-19 had a huge impact on pregnant women, new parents and their babies and disproportionately affected those already experiencing health and social inequalities.
“Information about services, support and vaccination during the pandemic was patchy, confusing and difficult for parents to navigate.
“Choice around place of birth was limited, with some services being suspended. Postnatal support was restricted and partners’ access to the postnatal wards significantly reduced, impacting mental health, infant development and feeding services particularly.
“We’re proud to be united with these 12 other pregnancy and baby charities to scrutinise Government priorities and decisions made during the pandemic to ensure important lessons are learnt.”
