The Duchess of Cambridge launches The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood
Today, The Duchess of Cambridge launches The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, building on ten years of work to understand the toughest social challenges and the impact of early experiences on lifelong physical and mental wellbeing.
Angela McConville, Chief Executive of NCT, said: “At NCT, we are incredibly excited to see the launch of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, believing in the vital importance of the very early years for healthier, happier lives.
“Too often, the focus for the next generation is too little, too late. By following the evidence, and working with academics, practitioners and parents, The Duchess of Cambridge has recognised the need to change the way we think and act on the early years.
“This means investing in babies, children and the people around them – expectant and new parents, carers, grandparents, community supporters, health visitors, early years practitioners and more – to ensure a nurturing environment for development and wellbeing.
“This is clearly a lifetime focus for The Duchess of Cambridge and we look forward to further collaboration with the Royal Foundation and private, public and voluntary sectors to raise awareness and drive real, positive change for future generations”.
