Our network of over 3,000 volunteers offer welcoming and inclusive activities that help parents feel confident and connected, improving the wellbeing of over 70,000 parents every year.
Our family-friendly, flexible approach to volunteering makes it easy to get involved. How much time you choose to give is up to you. It’s a great way to learn new skills and make new friends.
Join us as a volunteer - you don’t need to be an NCT member or a parent to help.
“When my second baby was four months old, I was starting to think about going back to work part-time. As well as wanting to get back to work, I wanted to make friends and gain some practical experience to build my confidence. I met other parents and volunteers at NCT Bumps & Babies. They were so nice and enthusiastic I agreed to help and start an NCT Walk & Talk. I'm excited to be doing something for others.”

Our commitment to you
You can expect a great volunteering experience where you can meet new people and use your skills to support parents. We'll provide excellent support every step of the way and training where you need it.
We believe volunteering should be something that is easy to pick up and put down - when the time is right we will support you to step away.
We will always champion diversity, equity and inclusion.
The welfare and safety of individuals is at that heart of everything that we do. We ensure that everybody who engages with our services, activities and events are safe and protected. This includes pregnant women, their partners, babies, children and new parents, as well as our staff, volunteers, students and practitioners. We are committed to safeguarding excellence and have a continuous improvement programme in place to review our safeguarding practices.
How you can help
Our volunteers offer a wide range of activities and events. Here are a selection of ways you can get involved.

Peer support and national roles
In some areas NCT has funding to deliver specific services for parents. Many of these involve the recruitment and training of specialist peer support volunteers. Find out more about these volunteering opportunities.
Do you have skills or experience that you can offer NCT on a national or strategic level? Let us know at volunteering@nct.org.uk.
