Our peer supporters for Newham Nurture can provide social, emotional and practical support to pregnant and new mums up to 6 months after birth.

Peer support enables and empowers women to access maternity services and gain the information and confidence they need during their pregnancy and to care for their baby.

Peer supporters are mums themselves who live in the local area and have lived experience of pregnancy, raising a child and everything in between. They receive accredited training through the programme enabling them to be non-judgmental, empathic and very good listeners.

We have peer supporters who speak a variety of different languages. Support is provided either in person, online or by telephone.
